Pear Glazed Ham

I did lay my ham face down in pan ๐Ÿ˜‰ AND I made my own brown sugar, which I like heavy with the molasses. Lastly, I did not have a spiral sliced ham; sliced it old school ๐Ÿ˜œ make it work. Potato salad at bottom.

It’s 93ยฐ so I’m NOT using my regular oven!

“This gorgeously glazed ham will be the star of your holiday spread. It has a perfectly sweet candied outside with soft spiced pears to serve on the side.” And that it does! It’s delicious.


  • 2 (15 oz) halved pears in 100% juice
  • 1 1/2 cups Dixie Crystals Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon all spice
  • 1 (8 to 10 pound) spiral sliced smoked ham


    1. Preheat oven to 325ยฐF. Place ham in roasting dish, set aside.1
    2. In a medium sauce pan over medium-high heat, combine pears (with juice), dark brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, vanilla extract, pepper and all spice. Bring to a low boil for 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.2
    3. Slowly pour the pear mixture on top of the ham. Cover with foil and place ham in oven.3
    4. Cook for a total of two hours, basting the ham every 30 minutes.4
    5. Let ham rest for 15 minutes, then serve.5
