Also, my son will make himself one on occasion, and he uses the same simple method as a grilled cheese. I use oven because I can make many at once.

Heat sauerkraut in a separate small saucepan on stove. Not a must; it can go on sandwiches with neat and cheese 😉 I happened to have a family member who does not like sauerkraut. 🙄 So we add it,warm, before eating.

My daughter insists on mustard 🫡 personally. I like them with butter, mustard, or thousand island dressing 🥰
