Although, I’ve added some details 😉

Let me start by saying… this is my daughter’s request. We rarely buy or eat hot dogs. When I do, I only eat Hebrew National. Also, I usually have home canned tomatoes or homemade stewed tomatoes. Make it work. 😜

Ingredients –

● Hot dogs, 2 pkges, cut in 1-2 inch pieces
● Bacon, approx 1 lb, cut 1-2 inch pieces
● Onion, about 1/2 of 1 large, diced
● Crushed (or stewed, or combination) tomatoes, lg can
● Tomato paste, sm can
● Broth, approx 3 cups, depending on consistency and taste (beef, chicken, or vegetable)
● Chili powder, couple tbsp
● Garlic powder, tsp, or more
● Sugar, to taste, start w/tsp
● Salt & pepper, to taste (1 tsp & 1/2 tsp)

Directions –

In large pot or dutch oven, I sear cut hot dogs first, transfer to dish, set aside. Fry bacon in the same pot, add onion, cook until soft and translucent. Add hot dogs back to pot. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, garlic powder, sugar, salt, and pepper. Start with half the broth, stir well. Add more broth to desired taste and consistency. Taste throughout. Let it simmer long enough for flavors to marry. Enjoy 😉

My daughter ended up wanting grilled cheese with it. Sounded good to me 😋
