My granddaughter cooked again. Loco Moco. That means she nabbed a tiktok video and just winged it šŸ˜‰ ingredients in bold font.

I made the rice first. Then she mixed ground beef with seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, a dash of cayenne), minced fresh garlic and diced onion, a little bit of breadcrumbs, 1 egg, little Japanese mayo, and a dash of worchestershire sauce. Formed into patties. In a nonstick skillet, she heated a little avocado oil, fry beef patties on med/high heat, getting a good sear on each side, and continued until internal temperature reads about 120°. Transfer to plate, cover to keep warm. Add a little more oil if needed to the same skillet, saute onions, and mushrooms until caramelized. Add a stick of butter and an equal amount of flour, stir a minute or two to cook out flour taste. Then add beef broth. I think we used about 4 cups, but we like our gravy! Stir or whisk until it thickens. If it’s too thick, add more water. TASTE for seasoning adjustment. She added a little soy sauce and worchestershire sauce to gravy. Fry eggs to your preference. Layer rice, beef patty, gravy, then egg. I forgot to chop green onions for topping 🤪 šŸƒ My daughter puts Sriracha on everything of hers. Personally, I’ll skip the egg and breadcrumbs when I make it 😜 but it really was damn delicious šŸ˜‹ enough for me to make it again!
