Gyudon is a rice bowl dish typically covered in marinated sliced onions and beef pieces. The marinade is combined out of everyday seasoning found in Japanese households and can be made quickly.
In this case, I used shaved ribeye and sliced Vidalia onion.
ingredients.

Ingredients
β’ 1 pack of thinly sliced beef
β’ 1/2 an onion
β’ 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
For the marinade
β’ 1 tablespoon of cooking sake (ryorizake, or ζηι
in Japanese)
β’ 2 tablespoons of sweet rice wine (Mirin, or ε³ι in Japanese)
β’ 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
β’ 1 tablespoon of sugar
You can opt to add up to Β½ cup of dashi (soup stock). There are also store-bought all-in-one sauces you can use to make things quicker. You might want to dilute store-bought with a couple of tablespoons of water if flavor is too strong.
Directions

Prepare rice and set aside.
β’ Cut up the onion into thin slices.
β’ Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan.
β’ Add the onion slices and wait for them to soften.
β’ Add the beef and make sure itβs cooked.
β’ Add in the sauce/marinade.
β’ Let it simmer for a few minutes with the lid on.
β’ After about two to three minutes, turn off the heat, and itβs ready.
Putting it together
β’ Place the cooked beef and sliced onions onto some fluffy cooked rice.
β’ You can add an egg and some chopped green onions on top and/or pickled red ginger
