Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon, roughly chopped
- 1 medium sized yellow onion, chopped
- 1 medium sized green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon chipotle chili powder, more to taste
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 3 (15-ounce) cans white beans, such as navy, rinsed and drained or 6 cups cooked white beans
- 1 cup water
- 1 package of hot dogs, any kind, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cook bacon in a large, oven-proof skillet over medium heat until it starts to release its fat. Reduce heat and add onion and bell pepper.
- Sautรฉ until the bacon is cooked and the vegetables are soft. Stir in tomato paste, sugar, molasses, chili powder, mustard, and vinegar until well combined.
- Add beans, hot dogs, water, salt and pepper and stir gently to combine.
- Cover skillet tightly with a lid or foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove cover and add more water if needed to moisten beans and continue to bake, uncovered, until top is browned and bubbly, about 30 minutes more. Serve hot.

Baked Franks n Beans โคต๏ธ
EASY version ๐ Still damn delicious ๐
Ingredients
โข Bacon, couple/few slices
Note*
โข 3 tablespoons chopped onion
โข 1 (16 ounce) can baked beans with pork
โข 1 (16 ounce) package frankfurters, sliced
โข โ cup dark brown sugar or add a tbs of molasses
โข 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
โข 2-3 dashes of worchestershire sauce
Directions
โข Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
โข Cook bacon in oven proof skillet/pan. Transfer to paper towel lined plate. Cut into bite size pieces.


โข Sautรฉ onions in bacon fat until tender.


โ Stir in beans with pork and frankfurters. I like to get color on franks first, in same pan with onion. Mix in brown sugar, and mustard until well combined.

โข Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

*Note – if you don’t use bacon, use 2 tbs of butter to sautรฉ onions.
